PROXIE (Perceptual Realities: Optimizing XR through Perceptually-Informed Experiences) investigates human perception in immersive Extended Reality (XR) environments. The project focuses on:
- 👁️Attention & gaze in immersive, task-driven XR.
- 🔊Multisensory integration across vision, audio, and proprioception.
- 🎨Visual quality & material appearance in VR/AR/MR.

Your environment
Successful candidates will join the Graphics & Imaging Lab and work with Ana Serrano.
Requirements
For PhD
- MSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
For Postdoc
- PhD and solid record of publications in a related area (TVCG, IEEE VR, ISMAR, SIGGRAPH, CHI, UIST...).
Common
- Strong programming skills (Python or C++).
- Solid background in math/statistics and experimental methods.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Interest in XR/perception and ability to work as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment.
Experience on (nice to have):
- Unity/Unreal Engine
- Eye-tracking
- Psychophysics
- Machine learning
- Audio/signal processing
- HCI
